TOURISM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Louisiana welcomed 44.5 million domestic & international visitors to the state in 2024. Total visitation increased by 1.5 million people over 2023. (Louisiana Visitor & Volume Spending, MMGY Global)

  • Visitors who came to the state spent $416 per person during their trip, and those visitors stayed an average of 2.79 overnights. 

  •  Direct spending by domestic and international travelers in Louisiana averaged $50.8 million a day; $2.1 million an hour; $35,258 a minute; and $588 a second.

  • A total of $2 billion of state and local tax revenues was generated by travel and tourism activities in Louisiana in 2024, which resulted in a 4% increase over 2023. $3.6 billion total taxes (includes $1.5 billion Federal) are sustained by tourism.
