Summit FAQ

What measures will be taken to ensure the health and safety of attendees?
The Louisiana Travel Association and Golden Nugget value the safety of our guests and are implementing a number of measures in the meeting space, including:

  • Socially distant seating
  • Masks required, masks distributed to each attendee
  • Enforced limited capacity in meeting rooms
  • Spray/wipe sanitation of seats and high-touch surfaces during breaks
  • Plexiglass divider at registration and materials handled by gloved staff
  • Contactless check-in option available when registering online
  • Mostly seated meals served by masked staff
  • Served or individually packaged buffets/coffee/snacks
  • Distancing signage at registration, elevators, hotel check-in and throughout meeting space
  • Hand sanitation stations located throughout meeting space
  • Hand sanitizer distributed to each attendee
  • UV microphone sanitation for speakers, hand sanitizer at podiums

What differences can we expect at this year’s Summit?
In addition to the health and safety measures listed above, there will be a few changes to the overall Summit schedule this year. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer projects in place of the normal FAM tours (more details below). The opening reception will take place outdoors to lower the overall risk and take advantage of cooler November temperatures. Partner Showcase has been revamped to discourage crowding and encourage “distanced” flow of traffic. Travel Fair will not take place this year to minimize risk and personal interaction.

What can I expect from the Volunteer Projects?
Together with the Lt. Governor, Louisiana Office of Tourism and Visit Lake Charles, we are planning a number of opportunities for attendees to offer assistance and give back to the hurting communities in the Southwest corner of our state. Instead of the traditional pre-conference FAM tours, we are working with Visit Lake Charles to coordinate local volunteer projects to put our industry to work helping to rebuild. Plus, we will be highlighting a number of giving opportunities throughout the conference to benefit the local hospitality community.

You can register to volunteer through the Summit registration process, or email josie@louisianatravelassociation.org.

Will there be a virtual option?
YES! We are thrilled to offer Summit 2020 as a hybrid conference, allowing those who are at-risk or unable to attend in-person the opportunity to participate. Virtual attendees will have live-streamed and on-demand access to all general sessions, plus all breakout sessions with speakers (not including Thought Leader roundtables).
